CLIENT: COMMUNITY OF MADRID
LOCATION: MADRID
imesAPI, through its Central Rehabilitation Delegation belonging to the Mobility and Rehabilitation Division, has been awarded the Maintenance and Repair Service for Structures of the Road Network of the Community of Madrid, Lot 4.
The purpose of the contract is to carry out the maintenance and repair works established in each case on the structures of Lot 4 of the Road Network of the Community of Madrid. The scope includes all crossing structures with spans equal to or greater than 3 m (large bridges, bridges, culverts, footbridges and pedestrian underpasses) and retaining walls made of concrete, masonry, metal and mixed materials. In this regard, the contract does not include structures with spans of less than 3 m, such as pipes or box culverts, except in cases where their condition poses a risk to road safety or to the service conditions of the network.
Structure maintenance and repair actions are grouped into 3 types, depending on their scope:
- Actions aimed at improving durability. In those structures where pathologies affecting durability are detected, improvement actions are proposed, aimed at extending the useful life of the structure. This group includes rehabilitation works such as: surface blasting, crack injection, repainting.
- Structural strengthening actions. In those structures where a reduction in their load-bearing capacity is detected, due to the progression of durability-related pathologies or vehicle impacts, for example, reinforcement solutions such as the installation of carbon fiber laminates are proposed.
- Adaptation of restraint systems: a special category of actions is the replacement of existing restraint systems with ones that comply with current regulations.
